Welcome to Data Collection for Hawk Happenings

Great work!
Data collection is complete.

See the most recent project updates.

As of June 14th we are finished data collection. All three nestlings have left the nest and are trying their wings out for the first time.

Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated! Over 300 people recorded 12,700 observations so that we can answer the question chosen by the community:

What is the frequency of certain hawk behaviors, and does this frequency vary with the weather?

The community collected observations on adult and nestling behaviors at the nest in real time. The Bird Cams Lab team will now work to create visualizations of the data and link the observations to weather data collected from a nearby weather station. Once we have the data visualizations we’ll reach out with more information about how we can all explore the data together.

Curious about how we collected data?
