Panama Live was the first Bird Cams Lab investigation to collect data in real time! Participants used a new data tagging tool to record whenever one of the six focal species arrived or food was put out on the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Panama Fruit Feeder Cam.

The Panama Fruit Feeder Cam is located at the Canopy Lodge in El Valle de Antón, Panama, about 60 miles west of Panama City. The Canopy Lodge specializes in nature tourism with a focus on birds and is one of three ecotourism ventures by the Canopy Family. The cam features a feeding table that is about 40 feet from the main lodge and one of many feeders provisioned throughout the day to give guests views of common birds found in this area. The feeders are filled approximately every 2 hours from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
