A bar chart in which the height of each bar is the percentage chance that there was vocalizing in each hour of the day, from the 5:00 hour interval to 20:00 hour interval. The percentage chance increases with the hour of the day from 36% at 5:00 to 83% at 19:00, dropping off at 20:00 to 25%.

Reading the Graph: When do the hawks vocalize at the nest? Is it in the morning? As the sun sets? Find out and see if you notice any other patterns. How does this visualization compare to the other visualizations about hawk vocalizations?

Notes: Each day is split into hour intervals from 5:00 through 20:00 (8:00 P.M.), and the height of each bar is the percentage chance that a hawk will vocalize during each of those time intervals. For example, out of the total number of times that at least one person watched the 5:00-6:00 interval, there was 36 percentage chance that a hawk would vocalize then. Also, keep in mind that some hours of the day were better covered by participants than others. See what the time watched data look like here and consider how it might affect the chance that the hawks will vocalize each hour.
