The title of this chart is “Mourning Dove (Success).” This is a horizontal bar chart with the number of displacements on the x-axis (horizontal axis) and species interacted with on the y-axis (vertical axis). There are two data sets displayed as two different colored bars. The light orange bars show the number of displacements that the Mourning Dove was successful and the blue bars show the number of displacements that the Mourning Dove was unsuccessful. The Mourning Dove was successful and unsuccessful when trying to displace its own species, but successful when it tried to displace European Starlings and Northern Cardinals.

Reading the Graph: Who do Mourning Doves try to displace? Recall a displacement is when one bird tries to dislodge another bird and it can be either successful or unsuccessful. The orange bars show displacements in which the Mourning Dove was successful and the blue bars show the displacements in which the Mourning Dove was unsuccessful. The length of each bar indicates the number of displacements and the species listed on the vertical axis are the species that the Mourning Dove tried to displace.
