Legend

The title of this chart is “House Finch (Displacements).” This is a horizontal, clustered bar chart with the number of displacements on the x-axis (horizontal axis) and species interacted with on the y-axis (vertical axis). There are two data sets displayed as two different colored bars. The light blue bars show the number of displacements that the House Finch initiated and the orange bars show the number of displacements that the House Finch was the receiver, or target, in. The House finch was not in many displacements. It was the initiator of displacements with its own species and the American Goldfinch, and the target of displacements with its own species.

Reading the Graph: Who do House Finches interact with? The orange bars show the displacements that House Finches initiated as the “source,” and the light blue bars show the displacements that House Finches received or were the “target” in. For example, House Finches were the target in two displacements with their same species. The length of each bar indicates the number of displacements and the species listed on the left are the species that the House Finch interacted with in these displacements.
